Take an H6 from a Tribeca, throw on a GT35 turbo, stuff it under the hood of a 2006 STI and you have Jeff Perrin's wild creation.

I have the 06 STI were should I start with perfomance upgades.
i don't see the point
written by a guest, October 01, 2006
you adding more weight to the front end, when for less money you can get the same power or more for less money with the stock engine. better power to weith ratio. I get that he did it to be different but it's not practical for someone who already owns a wrx or a STI
I see the point
written by a guest, October 05, 2006
Considering that they are getting 400 at the wheels without pushing it to the limit, I would say that motor is easily capable of 800 HP, and even with a fully built STi motor you will rarely see over 700 at the crank, and for a motor that will probably be around the 20K range making that power, I think its worth it, you'd spend the same cash for a fully built STi motor with less power, where do I sign up?
daymmmm!!

thats pimp

I wonder if they'd take a cavalier in trade for the sti smilies/grin.gif
The POINT...
written by a guest, December 11, 2006
With this engine you get a ton more torqe an almost no lag at 440 awhp. It makes lots more power down low than stock and still gets to the 400 whp range. When you put a gt35r or gt40r in a 2.5L you will get bunch of lag. A lot less power than stock anything bellow 3500 rpm. There is no replacement for displacement...

Perrin Rocks!
written by a guest, September 01, 2007
Nice Job Guys! That is the sweetest car I ever heard. Amazing engine note. Why in hell wouldn't Subaru sell this engine in an STI? Plain stupid. Perrin should sell this as a kit for all power junkies. What do you say Perrin? You game?
LIKE I ALWAYS SAID!
written by a guest, September 07, 2007
This is a bad ass combination. I've been considering swapping my 2.5 with a 3.0 for years. More torque, more hp, more everything. Whoever said the weight was a factor, the 3.0 weighs a mere 42 pounds more than the 2.5, maybe less. That could be the difference between two different drivers. Plus the low end response more than makes up for the weight gain. Not to mention the Twin-turbo possibilities! smilies/cool.gif IF YOU CAN FIND THE ROOM TO MAKE IT FIT! Perrin did a great job and yes they should sell a kit, but subaru should have built the 07 limited STI with the 3.0. Anyway, Perrin went way up in my book. Nice to see good ideas come to life.

Will you ever sell the go fast parts, and do engine swaps for retail public for the H6 motor???? Or any one who wants to attempt the H6 swap, Bravo way to go Jeff from one subie nut to another or should I say admirer.
