Endura-Tech Coilovers Arrive!
2007 Legacy GT

A few days ago I received a "beta" set of coilovers from our friends at Endura-Tech suspension. As soon as the weather clears I'll get these installed and tested on the 2007 Legacy GT project car. It's been either raining or threatening rain for the past two weeks here in Seattle, making wrenching time a miserable proposition.

2007 LGT project: August update
2007 Legacy GT
Earlier this week we took the Legacy GT project over to Wayne at VTR for some tint and to get our H&R Sport Springs mounted. Click the link above to see a snapshop of the final result. For the next issue of Subiesport we'll take it down to the testing field and run some laps around the cones to see just how much better this suspension setup is.

Stoking the Boiler
1993 Impreza
The search for more power. It is a common affliction among gear heads that causes them to spend the rent check on new bits of hollow tubing in an effort to increase “airflow.”

LGT 100HP Weekend
2007 Legacy GT
From the moment we took possession of our new 2007 Legacy GT, we knew it would not remain stock. To start with, it wasn’t fast enough, the tires weren’t aggressive enough and the brakes were not so great. We also knew that the suspension would need some attention as well.

Brake and Suspension Upgrades
1993 Impreza
As with most things in life, nothing is ever simple. This includes upgrading old parts on an old car. Take for instance our 1993 Impreza wagon. With over 160,000 miles on the clock and a former life as a midwest commuter car, it was a sure thing that most of, if not all of the bolts and bushings in our little L’s suspension were rusted, rotted and seized.

Adding a turbo
1997 Project Legacy GT
This is the story of our ill-fated project 1997 Legacy GT SEMA car, sponsored by Royal Purple Oil. A truely frustrating tale that in the end, leaves us with a bruised and battered car, that ultimately chronicles the pitfalls of doing anything very complicated, very quickly. We had basically six months to take our leaky, NA tortise, and turn it into a fire-breathing show car.

"Zero" hits the airfield
2005 Impreza 2.5RS
Our project 2.5RS took part in a shootout for Driving Sports Video. This is the companion to the cover story on the December 2006 issue of Subiesport Magazine.

Project Dreadnought
1993 Impreza

So I am now Editor in Chief of Subiesport Magazine. This means I need to quit screwing around with Hondas and buy a Subaru. While I love Subaru I also loved my Honda. But I needed a Subaru. So I bit the bullet and put the old 1995 hatch up for sale. I hate dealing with selling things online. People either want to low-ball you, or offer you half cash and something else like “this really cool dirt bike.”

New kid on the block
2007 Legacy GT
With THE 2005 2.5RS “Zero to Hero” project car well on its way, it was time to consider adding some fresh blood to our in-house project fleet. Joining the 2.5RS, and our 1976 1400DL Wagon (which is still in pieces) is the newest star in Subaru’s sky; the turbo-charged, 243hp, 2007 Legacy GT Limited Sedan.
